There is a
success law that dictates that you will soon or later be like the kind of
people you find yourself attracted to. If you are attracted to great people and
go ahead to associate with them consistently, you will surely become great too.
And the opposite is also true.
Last
evening, I was so blessed to receive feedback about my latest book
#InspiredByBitature from a great entrepreneur who is impacting the Ugandan
economy and population – a man that I am so proud to associate with. Karim
Lalani is a Director at #Thermocool, a company that provides air conditioning,
ventilation and electrical services, based in Industrial Area, Plot 15/17 (2nd
Street). Below is what he wrote:
“Hello
Robert! I am reading your newest publication #InspiredByBitature. I have written
this message to tell you that the book well written and very practical for the
country. This book will become a must-read for all our employees as well as a
crew of industrial trainees in sales and marketing that we are currently
recruiting. Anyone with fire in their belly for success will find your book the
‘how-to’ bible. One more thought... this book should be required reading
material for all high school students before they graduate. Not one of my 70
employees will be eligible for a pay raise if they have not read your book.”
That last
sentence made my day; I had to ask him to share this feedback on this public
platform. In fact when I visited his company’s Facebook page, I found the cover
of the book shared with this caption: “Want to work for us? Read it before your
interview.” Friends, we are not talking about an ordinary person out there. We
are talking about an entrepreneur who is managing 70 employees; a man who has
spent the better part of his 40 years consuming everything he landed on in the
area of human development. He is Tanzanian by birth, but he lived most of his
life in Canada. He is now in Uganda because he is proud of his African routes
and wants to impact the continent as much as he can.
Kalim has
met with and participated in seminars with the likes of Tony Robbins, Bob
Proctor, Marian Williamson, Zig Ziglar and many more, and has taught personal
financial planning to change the mindset of the working class in various parts
of the world, but remains a very humble man who never blows his own trumpet. Who
am I not to be proud of being associated with such a great man?
This leads
me to the conclusion of this message: Who are the people you find yourself
spending time with? Which kind of people to you talk to most? Which people do
you follow most on social media? Based on the Principle of Association that I
introduced as I started this post, trust me, you are already becoming like those
people. It’s only a matter of time. Since you are part of our global inspired
family, make sure that those people are all success-minded, not dream-vampires
who suck positive energy out of you.
Otherwise,
don’t forget to visit #Thermocool to see what they do. And don’t forget to pass
