INSPIRATION FLOWS LIKE A RIVER!
You may have missed some or even all the previous episodes of the Authors’ Forum, Uganda’s leading inspirational event, but the one happening next Wednesday, 1st July, 6-9pm, at THE HUB (Oasis Mall / Nakumat) is one you cannot even think of missing for two reasons:
First, we shall be discussing a topic that you definitely need – HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF. There’s nothing you can do and succeed at if you do not know how to market yourself. When looking for a job you are marketing yourself, when sitting at your shop waiting for customers you are marketing yourself, when working towards a salary increment or a job promotion you are marketing yourself, when introducing yourself to a new person you are marketing yourself, when you post anything on social media you are marketing yourself, when you speak on phone you are marketing yourself... Basically anything and everything we do can either market us or unmarket us depending upon how we play our cards!
Secondly, the panel that will be leading us in this mind-provoking discussion is composed of titans who have distinguished themselves regionally and globally. They’ve unquestionably succeeded in marketing themselves to the admiration of many. And they started from nothing! We are talking about NULU NALUYOMBYA, the brain behind SUCCESS CHAPTER, a lady who has inspired multitudes on different continents and countries. Recently, she electrified Vision Group’s PAKASA FORUM as a guest speaker. We are talking about SAMUEL BAKUTANA, a leadership expert who has not only written close to a dozen inspirational books that people are looking for the way bees look for nectar, but who has built his credibility to be trusted as one of the top organizational trainer in Uganda and East Africa at large. He is also one of the top followed columnists in WI-Magazine. There is one more person on the panel who is so inspiring that we’ve chosen to bring him as a surprise guest (we want to kulumya those who plan to miss).
And, hey! There will be amazing inspirational entertainment provided by the celebrated country musician ENG. JOSEPH BYAMUKAMA – king of the voice, the man who makes his guitar ‘talk’, and the tantalizing poet SESANGA JERRY, author of the novel AFRICAN GIRL that’s selling like fresh ensenene across East Africa.
Missing is simply not an option! Call 0704666851 / 0774107287 and secure your ticket at UGX 40,000. Remember annual subscription is only UGX 250,000 and with it you don’t need tickets for the next 12 months in addition to several other benefits. Now pick up your phone and call NOW for you don’t want you or your friends or family members to be left out at this special episode of the AUTHORS’ FORUM.
Stay inspired and blessed!

ARE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE JUST LUCKY?
There are many questions that everyone asks themselves, though sometimes silently. For instance, why is it that you can find someone having a PhD in business studies or entrepreneurship, but with no business – not even a kiosk – but rather just worried of what he or she will do after retirement?
At the end of a training workshop in Action Planning that I was conducting for a big corporation, one of the trainees, my former university classmate, asked me for a job. I told him that the skills and ideas I had just shared with them could make him create any job he wanted for himself and even employ others, but he argued that he was born unlucky and will never succeed on his own. Was he really unlucky? Or was it an issue with his attitude?
He claimed that people like myself are only lucky. How I wish he knew the negative comments I endured when I left my job(s) to start my business! I wish he was there to see me walk around with no transport fare or lunch in the first 2 years of business. I wish he was aware that I sometimes work for 19 hours a day. While he spends on booze and the latest cars, does he remember that one of the things I spend on most is developing myself through books, magazines, DVDs, workshops, e.t.c? Does he know that I have had ups and downs, that I have fallen and risen, that I’ve had moments of bankruptcy, moments of being laughed at, moments of not being believed by anybody, yet kept rising up to the challenge, defying failure and continuing to fight for my dream? So when he sees the success that WORLD OF INSPIRATION is registering today as it grows into a regional brand, he thinks it’s sheer luck. But For sure, I am not just lucky.
It’s true, some people are born lucky. Some find electricity, caring parents and housemaids in the home. Some find they have loaded and ‘connected’ uncles who give them capital or connect them to juicy jobs. Some are born with fascinating talents. But this does not guarantee success; it only facilitates the process. Someone can totally fail, even when he/she was born and is living in an environment that facilitates success.
In my view, no one should blame their failure on bad luck. Haven’t you seen disadvantaged people, such as orphans or those with disability who are great achievers? Aren’t there men who were lucky to marry beautiful wives, yet beat them up everyday? Aren’t there people who studied from the best universities and even inherited fortunes from their parents, yet are now wallowing in the valley of poverty? What of those lucky enough to have been born with a beautiful body, only to peddle it along Speke Road?
The truth is that to become successful, there’s something you must personally do. Both success and failure have something to do with our habits – the things that routine has taught us to do or not do everyday, whether knowingly or unknowingly. To facilitate your journey to success, I highly recommend that, without hesitation, you consider the following:
1. Be part of the next Authors’ Forum – Uganda’s leading inspirational event organized by WORLD OF INSPIRATION. It’s on the 1st of July, 6-9pm, at THE HUB (At Oasis Mall / Nakumat, 2nd Floor). The theme is HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF. No doubt marketing oneself is one of the habits that will open doors of success in your life. In this age no matter who you are, if you do not know how to market yourself, you will always find yourself at the bottom of the ladder, missing opportunities, left and right. As usual, entrance to this event is UGX 40,000, but this week we are giving tickets at a promotional price of UGX 30,000 (for 1 ticket), UGX, 50,000 (for 2 tickets) and UGX 80,000 (for 4 tickets). To lay your hands on this magnetic ticket, contact me on 0704666851 or Winnie Zose on 0774107287. In Kampala, we deliver the ticket at your doorstep. If you are far, you can send your payment by Mobile Money on any of the above numbers and your ticket will be safely reserved. NB: You can also choose to subscribe to the Authors’ Forum at UGX 250,000 and forget about tickets for 12 months in addition to several other benefits.
2. Book your slot in one or all of the 3 short courses that WORLD OF INSPIRATION is organizing for this month. The first one is PROJECT/PANNING which helps you choose the best business/project idea among many, do market research, write your business/project plan and kick off your business/project with the right principles and skills. The second one is THE ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING which will end all your troubles associated with expressing yourself in a captivating way before big audiences, but also in smaller audiences such as panels and even one-on-one conversations. The third is ACTION PLANNING whose phenomenal impact on individuals’ self-discovery I can’t begin to describe. This course will help you set a clear vision and mission, plus goals and objectives, but also align your habits, networks, career, business, investments, to your dream. Each course is done in 6 weeks, 1 session of 3 hours per week. Sessions are flexibly arranged at the convenience of the participants. The fees for each course is UGX 500,000. But if you come as a group of 10, you will be charged half price. Authors’ Forum subscribed members also pay half price. To book, contact me on 0704666851 or inspiredbake@gmail.com or Opata Peter (0702000808).
Till then, stay inspired and blessed, knowing that your success will not result from luck but rather your efforts!

INSPIRING LESSONS AT THE 3RD JUNE AUTHORS’ FORUM
“I am 57 years old and I am about to get my retirement package. All along I was wondering how I will ensure I grow this money and not lose it in a year and die miserably. I have never done business, but now I know, all I have to do is look for great business partners. Jane did it. As she shared her story, I realized that identifying Abrey transformed not only her life but also Abrey’s. Abrey had the technical skills to weld, but possibly wasn’t able to do good marketing. On the other hand, Jane was outgoing and able to market any product. Today their combination is doing very well like we all witnessed. Thanks to World of Inspiration for organizing such an insightful Authors’ Forum. I need to buy a copy of that DVD plus the one on Preparing for Enjoyable Retirement” (TUSIIME ELEADOR).
“The 3rd June Authors’ Forum was breath-taking! I learnt from the panelists that as an entrepreneur, I have to always look at how to cut the costs, increase profits, and do so without compromising the quality of my product. Not only that. I also got to understand the different types of partnerships such as co-ownership, equity funding, buying franchises, swapping and dealership, among others as Bake ably explained them in detail. As if all the above were not enough, there comes another lesson on documentation of partnership arrangements! I love this Authors’ Forum family, thanks to WORLD OF INSPIRATION” (MONICA NAHABWE, Office of the Prime Minister).
“I learnt from Bake’s business journey that it is not possible for anyone to succeed in business without business partners of sorts. One may not necessarily bring on board partners who co-own the business, but somehow as the vision bearer you have to bring on board other people who complement you. I learnt that partnerships are about complementally. For instance, Bake shared why he brought on board his wife and why he partnered with individuals and organizations to market his products at a commission. He also said that even in choosing staff to employ he looks for those with complementally skills and talents because he looks at them as partners. I don’t want to miss the Authors’ Forum again. This month I want to subscribe for annual membership” (ANNET AKELLO).
“I had always heard about the Authors’ Forum from my friends in Uganda and my curiosity had always grown. But this time I happened to be in the country and, my God, how could some Ugandans miss such an inspirational event? I was glad you welcomed me and made me even stand up in the audience and receive a round of applause. That showed me that you want not only Ugandans to succeed, but every African. Specifically, I my major lesson was on the 4 Ps that were shared – Passion, Perseverance, Patience and Partnerships. Bake specifically called them Strategic Partnerships. Jane’s passion was like electricity in the room. I am going to talk to my friends and colleagues in Kenya to see how WORLD OF INSPIRATION can expand to us. I am glad there were other two Kenyans, Raphael and another one whose name I have forgotten. Long live Authors’ Forum” (KAMAU P, Busia).
“I learnt that when a partnership doesn’t work, there’s always a point at which to let go and move on. One should not insist on keeping people who are liabilities instead of assets. Of course, I also loved the humour: Jane Werikhe nearly broke my ribs when she said that some Ugandans complain so much like the only book they’ve read is the book of Lamentations! The Authors' Forum is the place to be” (MARIA NATUKUNDA, NTV).
“The major lesson I picked is that when doing business, family and friends should be treated the same way any other clients are treated. I loved it when Jane shared her experience of charging her sister when doing work for her. Indeed, friends and family members should promote us, not bring us down. From today on I won’t be treating close people with kid gloves” (SPECY KAKIIZA, Uganda Health Marketing Group).
Well, we cannot tell it all. The full story of what transpired at the last Authors’ Forum can only be told by the video recording which we already have on DVD. Call 0704666851 / 0774107287 and your copy will be delivered at your doorstep today. A copy goes for UGX 15,000, while 2 go for UGX 20,000. We also have over 70 other powerful inspirational DVDs including that on Preparing for Retirement, Leveraging Technology, Financial Intelligence, Secrets of Success in Business, e.t.c, featuring inspirational figures like Patrick Bitature, Emmanuel Katongole, Andrew Rugasira, Fagil Mandy, and many others.
Finally, mark 1st July on you calendar because that’s a date to make a date with – that’s when we shall have our next episode of the Authors’ Forum. The theme is HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF. In this 21st century NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE, if you do not know HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF, you will always find yourself at the bottom of things, missing opportunities, left and right. So use the contacts above to secure your ticket. This week we are giving tickets at half price (meaning UGX 20,000 instead of 40,000). As usual the venue is THE HUB (At Oasis Mall 2nd Floor) and the time is 6-9pm.
NB: Authors’ Forum subscribed members attend freely; all you need to do is pay UGX 250,000 and that makes you a member for 12 months. During that period we keep giving you a free inspirational DVD every month. For the months you fail to attend the Forum, you can give your membership card to a friend of a family member to attend on your behalf. We would wish in a special way to thank Parliament of Uganda which subscribed for 10 members to the Authors’ Forum and is in the process of subscribing for 6 more. We are also grateful that we have 8 professors of Makerere University who are subscribed members. To us, this is a sign that the Authors’ Forum is part of an unstoppable inspirational revolution that has taken over Uganda.
Stay blessed and inspired!

Some people get worried and stressed when they face small challenges at the
beginning of an important day. Well, for me it’s different. My experience has
been that somehow a day to end well always begins with obstacles. It could be
your wedding day and it terribly rains in the morning; don’t panic. Stand still
and know that He is God.
Today is a very important day in my life for 2
reasons. First, it’s the day when as a Christian (specifically a Catholic) I
join the rest of the world to celebrate the heroic lives of the Uganda Martyrs
who demonstrated their faith by dying for the name of Christ. The inside story
says they refused to do what King Mwanga ordered them to do, including
homosexuality and getting involved in pagan rituals (but that’s a story for
another day).
The second reason I am happy is that today, the gathering of 500
business minds – the AUTHORS’ FORUM – which I organize has fallen on a public holiday
and thus hundreds of people who had failed to attend because of work are coming
to attend this evening! So as I was warming up for the magogomus event my phone
screen gets broken (sorry for those who tried to reach me to no avail). I rush
to Techno Service Centre and find it closed. I wonder why they are not
operating when MTN, Orange and other companies in the same industry are open,
given that theirs is a 24-hour service. But I also remember that when the cover
for my phone got worn out I couldn’t get a replacement from Techno; they said
they don’t sell such spares.
The truth is that Techno smart products are
amazing; my phone even came with a power bank, and this phone is able to do some
things better and faster than my computer. The original cover that comes with a
techno smart phone (H7) is the best I’ve ever owned and I would be willing to
pay up to 150k for a replacement if I got that very one, but it’s not available
and not having a proper cover is what resulted into my screen getting broken last
night.
Somehow I find someone who has access to those screens but tells me he
can get it in 3 days and it will cost 250k which is the same price at which
Techno gives it (in case you have a ready one that can instantly be fixed at a
cheaper cost, be my guest now, I mean #Now). Eventually I buy a phone of 45k to
get back on air and continue coordinating the preparations for the
fantamasticaglofabulous Authors’ Forum. So both my lines (0704666851 and
0712868424) are back on air, just in case you need to book your seat at the
event. I am now learning to use it; the ringtone is too loud but I haven’t
invested in time to know how to reduce it. I also haven’t transferred the
contacts to this new phone so if you call me and I don’t respond to you by
name, understand (I never guess voices on phone because one time my then
girlfriend called and asked me to guess who it was and I said a name of another
girl; I earned myself bluetoothed mental slaps). What was I saying by the way?
Oh, that a day to end well sometimes begins in a funny way. Now I know that
today’s Authors’ Forum is going to be ballistic. The celebrated interior and
exterior designing entrepreneur , Jane Werikhe, will be joining me on the panel
and we shall engage the audience in a mind-provoking business debate on the
topic ‘PARTNERSHIPS IN BUSINESS’. You can contact me (my contacts already given
above) or Winnie (0774107287) to secure your ticket at just 40k. Please call
early; not when the event has started because there you will be disrupting
those who are already there enjoying. Holy Uganda Martyrs, pray for us. In
Jesus’ name, Amen.
